Jennifer Gonzalez: Recently I attended a Women’s Conference in Cedar Rapids. One of the sessions I chose to attend was “Image Education for Your Everyday Life” being conducted by Pat Roland. I haven’t had 45 minutes affect my life so greatly in a long time. Pat forced a couple “Aha” moments during the session, one of which was discovering my true body shape and how to accommodate it with the outfits I choose. She also woke me up with facts about a well dressed, made-up women’s earning potential and asked the question “why do we spend more time decorating our homes than paying attention to what we look like?”
That weekend I stripped my closet and only put things back that fit, were unstained and not needing repair. The other step was to go shopping and buy undergarments and hosiery to make the cloths look better. After a generous donation from my mother the “accessory bin” and frequent application of lipstick I am like a new woman. I am going to conferences and work meetings with more confidence and finding I am treated in a whole new light.
Thank you Pat! When the seasons change a meeting with you might be a birthday present to myself! |
